- On Tuesday, March 26, 2025, Laterrika Woods, the 29-year-old sister of Memphis rapper Big Boogie , died in Hazen, Arkansas, after a car crash during a police chase that started near the I-40 173-mile marker in Lonoke County.
- The Arkansas State Police reported that a trooper initiated the chase after observing a Dodge Ram pickup truck committing a traffic violation, leading to an 18-mile pursuit where the driver, 30-year-old Torkilo Hambrick, reached speeds of over 120 mph and passed vehicles on the shoulder.
- To stop the vehicle, a trooper performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention , causing the truck to crash into a ditch, ejecting Laterrika Woods, who died at the scene, and also ejecting 26-year-old Latarica Walker, who was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
- Following the crash, troopers found two guns, money, a bottle of promethazine, and marijuana inside the truck, and ASP Col. Mike Hager stated, "This tragedy is a direct result of the suspect's reckless, selfish actions" and "This is another example of what can happen when a suspect flees from law enforcement."
- Torkilo Hambrick, who is a registered sex offender with active warrants out of Shelby County for probation violation, will be charged in Woods' death, sparking debate about Arkansas' pursuit policies and prompting an outpouring of support for Big Boogie from the hip-hop community.
