Starbucks increases US hourly wages and adds other benefits for non-union workers
- Starbucks will increase wages for its employees starting on January 1. Employees will receive raises of 3% or 4% based on their years of service, with those who have worked for five years or more eligible for a 5% increase. Unionized stores are excluded from this benefit.
- In addition to wage increases, Starbucks is shortening the time it takes for hourly employees to accrue vacation days from one year to 90 days. However, this benefit is only available to workers at non-unionized stores.
- A new North American barista championship has been announced by Starbucks, but it will not be available to employees at unionized stores. The company is currently in a dispute with the Workers United union over withholding benefits from these stores.
