HashKey Adds HKDAP as Hong Kong Stablecoin Market Develops
OSL will provide distribution, trading and liquidity support as Anchorpoint opens limited HKDAP access to institutional distributors and professional investors.
- On Wednesday, OSL Group and HashKey Exchange announced their participation as authorized distributors for HKDAP, Hong Kong's first regulated Hong Kong dollar-backed stablecoin currently available to professional investors.
- Anchorpoint Financial, a joint venture established by Standard Chartered Bank, HKT, and Animoca Brands in February 2025, launched the regulated stablecoin initiative. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority granted Anchorpoint its issuer license under the Stablecoins Ordinance in April 2026.
- OSL and HashKey will provide liquidity support, trading services, and fiat on-ramps to integrate the stablecoin into commercial activities. Dominic Maffei, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder at Anchorpoint, said regulated stablecoins must "support real-economy applications" to achieve long-term success.
- The initiative prioritizes tokenized funds, trade finance, and cross-border payments during Beta Access. Kevin Cui, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of OSL, stated this collaboration marks an important step in connecting digital asset markets with mainstream economic activity.
- As operational readiness evolves, Anchorpoint aims to target broader retail adoption as early as the end of 2026, depending on market conditions. Future expansion plans include support for new cross-border payment and settlement applications across additional markets.
