Man, Dog Stabbed in a Parkland Parking Lot; Suspect Killed by Deputies
The suspect stabbed a man and his dog after asking about the man’s religion; deputies shot the armed suspect who later died at a hospital, authorities said.

- After more than two hours of searching, a deputy spotted the suspect on the 800 block of 112th St. S. at 8:40 a.m.; deputies fired shots about 8:47 a.m., and the suspect later died at a hospital, PCSO said.
- Both victims were transported to hospitals, and the dog underwent emergency surgery while the Pierce County Force Investigation Team and Major Crimes Task Force investigate the shooting.
- Residents of the neighborhood say the stabbing is the latest in recent weeks of violence, while local authorities have limited information on the suspect, and Eddie Nitschke said, `My shirt was drenched with blood`.
