Israel, Chile and the USA are the countries that generate the largest amounts of waste per capita in the world, while Japan and South Korea generate the least, according to the Global Waste Index 2025 study. Slovenia ranked 13th out of 38 OECD countries that were scrutinized in the area of waste management.
