The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) today denounced a world torn by war and “blinded” by the pursuit of military domination, during a speech before the Security Council, which he decried the “chronic” failure to guarantee peace. “From Sudan to Ukraine, from the Sahel to Myanmar, from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Haiti, violence has become the marker of our times,” declared Filippo Grandi.
