Springfield to continue to fight against wood-burning biomass plant with new appeal

SPRINGFIELD — The City Council will continue its 14-year battle to try to block a proposed wood-burning biomass plant by appealing a recent court decision that restores rescinded building permits.The council voted 7-0 to continue the fight in a special meeting on Tuesday. The decision was made on the last day to appeal a judge’s order issued this month that once again revived the Palmer Renewal Energy LLC project.
