- During raids in the eastern province of Castellon, officers seized two firearms, ammunition and books with Adolf Hitler on the cover after an investigation launched earlier this year found a highly radicalised Spanish cell.
- The leader is now in custody on charges including membership, recruitment, indoctrination, training with terrorist aims, and illegal possession of weapons; the 2020 FBI arrest of Patrik Jordan Mathews set precedent.
- Last year the European Union added The Base to its terrorist list, imposing sanctions including a travel ban and asset freeze; the Southern Poverty Law Center calls it an antisemitic, white nationalist network.
