Uptick in flu cases prompts San Diego County hospitals to erect overflow tents to ease ER burden
Flu symptoms detected in local ERs jumped from 7 percent to 9 percent last week with positive tests also continuing to rise though not quite as quickly. Thus far, the volume does not compare to the 2017-2018 season when flu symptoms in ERs nearly reached 17 percent, but it's only just November. The big question is, will we peak before the new year, and have a normal-length season, or will this plateau through the winter?
