NHL has met with Dan Friedkin's group about interest in bringing an expansion team to Houston
The NHL has met with Dan Friedkin's group to discuss bringing an expansion team to Houston, confirmed by Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly in an email to The Associated Press.
Friedkin, with a net worth of $6.4 billion, recently acquired a majority interest in Everton, an English Premier League club.
Commissioner Gary Bettman stated that the NHL is not currently in a formal expansion process and emphasized a targeted approach if they proceed with expansion.
Interest in expansion has also been noted from multiple groups in Atlanta and a group in Utah.
