Son of Israeli ambassador to US critically injured in West Bank ramming attack

- Leiter is the brother of Major Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who was killed in combat in the Gaza Strip in November 2023. He has served hundreds of reserve duty days on multiple fronts since October 7, 2023.
- Security forces killed the attacker, identified as 29-year-old Mahmoud Muhammad Mahmoud Suleiman from the village of Beit Ur al-Tahta. Neria suffered severe head injuries and was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
- Ambassador Leiter is returning to Israel to be with his son, cancelling his plans to accompany Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United Nations General Assembly. The family has requested prayers for Neria's recovery.
- The 98th Division headquarters will deploy to the southern West Bank to reinforce the Etzion Brigade, the IDF announced. This strategic move follows a recent surge in violence throughout the region, including attacks near the Binyamin area.
