Despite clouds, some see partial eclipse in parts of Europe

Today around noon, not only the moon covered a part of the sun, but also some clouds.

In some regions of Germany a partial solar eclipse was observed today. The celestial spectacle started around 12 o'clock in the west of the country. In the following about two hours the moon moved between sun and earth.

The partial solar eclipse could only be admired in Germany with the right equipment. It was best seen in Greenland.

The nearly hour-long phenomenon was visible to the naked eye and with binoculars at noon. Neither during a partial solar eclipse nor at any other time should you ever look at the Sun without a suitable and safe solar filter made for this purpose.

Photographers grabbed lucky shots before the clouds rolled in
