Solana News (SOL): Canada's HODL to Begin Trading on Nasdaq
SOL Strategies aims to accelerate validator growth and attract institutional capital into Solana with its debut on Nasdaq, holding 435,064 SOL tokens valued at CAD$122 million.
SOL Strategies announced Nasdaq approval on September 5 and will begin trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under ticker 'STKE' on September 9, 2025, while retaining its CSE listing.
Following the transformation to a Solana-first vehicle, SOL Strategies accumulated 401,500 SOL in treasury and 3.55 million SOL in delegated assets after the July 30, 2024 shareholder meeting.
The listing will provide shareholders with greater liquidity and institutional access, with existing OTC shareholders seeing their holdings convert automatically as the firm delists from the OTCQB Venture Market but continues trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange .
Following the announcement on Friday, Solana's price surged to a $210 high and later traded near $204.82, while HODL stock rose 8% in Toronto.
The approval positions SOL Strategies as a validation for the Solana ecosystem amid growing institutional interest, with Galaxy Digital, Multicoin Capital, and Jump Crypto reportedly seeking approximately $1 billion for a dedicated SOL treasury.
