Smith says caucus executive director didn’t report voter list meeting to higher-ups
Premier Danielle Smith says her caucus is responsible for the delayed knowledge about a private information breach involving Albertans.
A caucus staffer attended an April 16 meeting where private information on Albertans was displayed via an app and briefed the caucus executive director afterward.
The United Conservative caucus executive director did not inform Premier Smith or her office about the breach.
The NDP reported the breach to the RCMP the day after learning of it, and the breach became public three weeks later when Elections Alberta sought to shut down the app.
