Fico is interested in further joint meeting of the cabinets of Slovakia and Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin last December and has been critical of Ukraine since the start of the year for halting gas supplies to Slovakia. Despite this, he has now shown interest in further joint negotiations between the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine. Last year, two joint meetings of the governments of the two countries took place in Mikhalovce and Uzhgorod.

The Slovak government is interested in holding a third intergovernmental meeting with Ukraine.

The head of the Slovak government wants to talk to Ukrainian partners about civilian projects, and such consultations are to be organized at the border of both countries. Robert Fico's statement may be surprising, because relations between Bratislava and Kiev are tense, and the crisis deepened at the beginning of the year, when the latter capital stopped the transit of Russian gas.
