Slovakia's representative has been instructed to request a postponement of the vote on the draft of the 18th package of European Union sanctions against Russia, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said in a statement on Tuesday. According to him, Bratislava wants an exemption for Russian gas imports until 2034 in accordance with the contract it has concluded with the Russian concern Gazprom.
The Slovak Prime Minister calls for more assurances that his country will not suffer economically after the fall in Russian gas in 2028.
