Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu came out victorious in a three-game thriller against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara on Tuesday in the Round of 32 of Indonesia Open, while Lakshya Sen suffered a first-round exit.

Sindhu won 22-20, 21-23, 21-15 against the Japanese shuttler to advance to the second round. In men’s singles, Lakshya suffered a first-round exit on this year’s tour after a 11-21, 22-20, 15-21 loss against China’s Shi Yu Qi. Meanwhile, Anupama Upadhyaya exited after a straight-games loss against South Korea’s Kim Ga Eun.
