A man in Sibu, Sarawak, was sentenced to 3 months in jail after he was unable to display his Malaysian identity card (IC) to police officers. According to a report by Oriental Daily, the 37-year-old man pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 25 (1) (n) of the National Registration Department Act 1990 at the Sibu Courthouse for failing to show his IC when requested by police officers at 9:30am on March 3 (Monday).
