India wins the toss and bowls in the 2nd ODI cricket match against New Zealand
Gurnoor Brar’s career-best spell backed India’s new-ball pressure as New Zealand managed only 134 and lost seven wickets inside the first 20 overs.
- On Saturday, November 7, 2026, India faces New Zealand in the second ODI in Wellington, seeking to extend its 1-0 series lead after a rain-affected opener in Auckland.
- India's inexperienced pace attack dominated the series opener in Auckland, with Anshul Kamboj, Arshdeep Singh, and Gurnoor Brar combining to bowl New Zealand out for 185 in 40.2 overs.
- At Hnry Stadium, shorter square boundaries compared to Eden Park require Indian pacers to adjust their lengths, moving away from the short-ball approach that succeeded previously.
- New Zealand will be without opener Devon Conway for the remainder of the series following a concussion in training, with Nick Kelly joining the squad as replacement depth.
- AccuWeather forecasts a 60% chance of precipitation in the first half of Saturday, complicating match conditions before the series moves to Hamilton for the third ODI on November 10.
