Lingen (dpa/lni) – A freighter hit a bridge over the Dortmund-Ems Canal in Lingen in the Emsland. Whether the crossing near the centre of the village is at risk of falling down is now to be clarified by an expert, as a police spokesman told us. There are therefore no injuries. An inland waterway has rammed a bridge over the Dortmund-Ems Canal in Lingen at noon. According to the police, there are no injuries. An expert should now check whether the bridge is at risk of collapse.

The bridge on the Lindenstraße in Lingen, at the height of the Emslandarena, was heavily damaged by an inland waterway vessel on Wednesday. It may be at risk of collapse. It will be closed for road traffic until at least Thursday.
