Shelter-in-place lifted after mountain lion spotted in Santa Cruz

Around 7:30 a.m., the Santa Cruz Police Department received several calls about a mountain lion in the neighborhoods of Gault Street and Darwin Street. The Department of Fish and Wildlife sent out biologists to locate and monitor the mountain lion. As of 1:30 p.m. Santa Cruz police had not confirmed whether the lion was captured or even seen again. Do not approach if you see a mountain Lion. Instead, call 911 and provide the location of the animal.
