The EU wants to charge a fee on orders in order to contain the packet flood from China.

In the face of a rapidly increasing number of packages, the EU Commission is considering a flat-rate levy of up to two euros on certain orders.

The fee would remove the customs-free status of packages worth less than €150 that are imported directly to consumers, often via platforms like Temu and Shein.

The European Commission is planning to apply a two-euro rate to each purchase made on Chinese cheap products platforms such as Temu and Shein.

The EU Commission wants to reduce deliveries from third countries – probably with the help of a levy. Packages from Temu and Shein could thus become up to two euros more expensive.
