CJEU ruling. An EU member state cannot refuse an arrest warrant if criminal proceedings are still pending

The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled that a member state cannot refuse to execute a European arrest warrant issued to secure the presence of a person in a criminal trial, even if the crime does not fall within the jurisdiction of that state.

The Regional Court in Zielona Góra issued a European Arrest Warrant for Katarzyna Owieczko-Chutko. The woman worked as a psychologist for years, despite not having any qualifications or even education.
