- The floods were triggered by the excessive swelling of the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers following intense rainfall in the regions of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, leading to extensive damage and forcing thousands to evacuate their homes.
- Meer Foundation partnered with the local NGO Voice of Amritsar, which provides immediate relief such as food, medicines, and clothes, while planning reconstruction in two villages along the Ravi river.
- Each relief package contains essential medicines, sanitary items, basic food supplies, insect-proof bedding, waterproof covers, portable beds, and cotton sleeping pads to meet urgent requirements related to health, protection, and shelter.
