WESTFIELD — Within days of one another, police in Westfield and Ludlow arrested New York men accused of carrying out nearly identical scams targeting elderly residents, highlighting a fraud problem authorities say continues across the region. In Westfield, police arrested Xiaoming Chen and Weilun Wu, both of Brooklyn, in connection with an alleged scheme that investigators say convinced a senior citizen to hand over a large amount of cash.
