Three militants linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan were killed during a targeted intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, Pakistan’s military said.
- On January 25, Pakistan security forces killed three militants including local commander Farooq alias Soro, Adeel, and Waseem in an intelligence-based operation in Pangjur district, ISPR said.
- Following reports of a militant presence, security forces launched the IBO after reports of terrorists' presence, targeting militants involved in numerous terrorist activities in Pangjur district amid rising border incidents since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021.
- According to ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, 75,175 intelligence‑based operations occurred in 2025, with 5,397 terrorism incidents and 2,597 terrorists killed nationwide last year.
- Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the slain militants, and sanitisation teams are now conducting sweeps in Pangjur district to eliminate any other India-linked militants, ISPR said.
- ISPR framed the operation within its 'Azm e Istehkam' campaign, vowing the counterterror drive will continue amid a cross‑border incident trend since 2021.
