Mali's schools and universities will remain closed for two weeks due to the effects of a blockade imposed by armed groups on fuel imports. Education Minister Amadou Sy Savane said the situation led to the decision to close schools until November 9 due to the inability to transport teachers due to fuel shortages. He added that authorities are doing everything possible to restore supplies before classes resume on November 10.
