Schoof Emphasizes the Importance of Unity at WWII Commemoration in Margraten

They sat on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Day in the American cemetery in Margraten on the front, eighty years after the end of World War II. A war in which Arnold Strauch (99), Dominick Critelli (104) and Bob Larson (98) still fought themselves.

We must continue to invest in defending the freedom for which allied soldiers fought so hard in World War II. That is why it is important to guarantee unity during the upcoming NATO summit, to show that their sacrifice was not in vain. Prime Minister Dick Schoof said this on Sunday at the annual commemoration at the American military cemetery in Margraten. He spoke of a "moral obligation" that we owe to the fallen soldiers.
