Santander statement on increase in account fees for these customers
LANCASHIRE, ENGLAND, JUL 27 – New Santander Edge credit card customers will face a fee increase to £4 monthly and a revised cashback cap of £120 per year, replacing the previous £15 monthly limit.
- From next billing cycle, Santander UK will charge new Edge credit card customers £4 per month instead of £3.
- Amid efforts to widen access, applicants can now qualify for the Edge credit card without a Santander current account, needing only to be 1 year or older, UK residents, and earn over £10,500.
- Adding to these changes, the Cashback offer provides 1 percent cashback in year one up to £10 monthly, and cash withdrawals incur a 3 percent fee with a £3 minimum.
- Existing account holders will continue under the previous terms, retaining benefits like no FX fees and Santander Boosts, as the fee increase applies only to new customers.
- To avoid surprises, cardholders are urged to confirm fee schedules and expiry dates before trips, including checking their card's expiry dates beforehand.
