Polish banking is on the verge of one of the biggest changes of recent decades. After years of Spanish brand Santander's presence in the Polish market, it will soon be replaced by Austrian financial giant Erste Group. Customers can expect to see the blue Erste logo on branches and payment cards, replacing Santander's distinctive red.
The rebranding process will begin in the second quarter of 2026, bank representatives announced. All existing customer agreements will remain in effect, and account numbers, PINs, etc., will remain unchanged.
The Erste Group has received the green light for the acquisition in Poland.
