Mid-scale salaries haven't kept up with the rapid rise of the minimum wage in Spain, and new data reveals that over the past five years the most frequent annual earnings in Spain are just €450 above the legal minimum.

In Spain, the most frequent wage, which is the one that receives the majority of workers, is around 15,574 euros gross per year. This figure barely exceeds by 400 euros the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI), set for 2025 at 16,576 euros gross per year, after the last increase of 4.4% agreed between the government and trade unions.
