Servant of God Adele Brice, witness to the first Church-approved Marian apparitions in North America, is eligible for beatification. The bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay, Wisconsin, has issued a decree formally initiating the diocesan canonical investigation before beginning her cause for beatification. Our Lady appeared to Brice in the 19th century, calling for the catechism of sinners and prayer for them.
