Sadness at passing of Ballyfin man John Phelan, former senior counsel - Laois Today

The death has occurred of John Phelan from Ballyfin, a highly-respected barrister for many years. Aged in his mid 70s, Mr Phelan was a former senior counsel, well regarded initially on the legal circuit locally before ‘taking the silks’. He had a long and illustrious legal career, where he was involved in a series of high-profile cases.
