Russia says it struck two Ukrainian cargo vessels in the Black Sea
Russian strikes hit port and fuel infrastructure in Odesa and a power substation in Kharkiv, officials said, as fires were extinguished.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that its forces struck two dry cargo vessels carrying military equipment and supplies in the Black Sea near the port of Odesa and Chornomorsk.
In addition to targeting maritime transport, Russian strikes hit fuel storage facilities at Chornomorsk intended to supply Ukrainian armed forces, alongside key logistics and infrastructure centers.
Russian defense officials stated that the maritime attacks formed part of a broader wave of strikes targeting transport corridors, including a key bridge across the Dnipro River in Kyiv and an electrical substation in the Kharkiv region.
Moscow pledged to step up strikes across Ukrainian supply infrastructure after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed that Kyiv would intensify attacks against Russian oil refineries and strategic assets.
Russian air defense forces also claimed to have intercepted and destroyed over 550 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions, as well as over the Azov and Black seas.
