Royal Netherlands Navy frigate HNLMS Evertsen on Fire, Den Helder, Netherlands

A fire broke out at the Zr.Ms.Evertsen naval frigate in the Marinehaven in Den Helder on Thursday morning. Emergency services were alerted around 11:41 a.m. The fire is now out. The fire department is still ventilating the ship. According to a spokeswoman for the safety region, this should be done in phases: smoldering particles can cause the fire to flare up.

A fire was reported on the frigate Zr.Ms. Evertsen in the port of Den Helder. The fire was scaled up to a "very large fire", but has since been extinguished.

The crew disembarked in time. No one was injured.
