In Romania, a motion of censure by the right-wing populists against the new coalition government under Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan (Liberal Party/PNL) and its austerity and tax package failed on Monday. Only the 134 parliamentarians of the ultra-right-wing opposition voted for the departure of the government, while the remaining members boycotted the vote. To overthrow the government, 233 votes were needed.
