RoboParty Unveils RP1, a High-Performance Full-Stack Open-Source Humanoid Robot at IROS
The platform combines robot hardware, PartyOS and the UFO training framework, and RoboParty says it has more than 5,000 developers in its community.
RoboParty unveiled RP1 at IROS on September 28, marking the high-performance, full-stack open-source bipedal humanoid's global debut for research, education, and development.
Building on the RPO project, RoboParty integrated Romomo actuator modules and the RP Hand to create this open-source body. Founder Yi Huang stated humanoid robots "should not be closed systems."
RP1 delivers peak joint torque of up to 160 N·m, with dynamic motion supported by PartyOS, which integrates UFO—a framework for discovering humanoid motor skills through unsupervised reinforcement learning.
RPO has received more than 2,500 GitHub stars while the global developer community now exceeds 5,000 members across research, education, and maker communities.
In October 2026, RoboParty plans to announce further details of RP1's open-source roadmap, with broader software and hardware releases scheduled for later in the fourth quarter.
