Rob Reiner Earns Emmys Nod for 'The Bear' 7 Months After His Death
On Wednesday, July 8, the late filmmaker Rob Reiner earned a posthumous Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in FX's The Bear.
Reiner portrayed businessman Albert Schnurr, a mentor to Ebraheim , during a three-episode arc in Season 4 of the restaurant-focused series.
Beyond The Bear, the director's final on-screen role included a cameo as George Washington in the sketch comedy series Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.
Following the deaths of Reiner and his wife, producer Michele Singer Reiner, in their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025, murder charges were filed against their son, Nick Reiner, who is currently awaiting trial.
Reiner joins a select list of posthumous Emmy candidates, with winners announced during the ceremony on September 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
