Revelstoke gymnasts spring for the stars after success at nationals
The pair earned silver at Gymnastics Canada’s 2026 championships and will enter monthly qualifiers through June 2027.
Revelstoke gymnasts Nate Acton and Kenadie Stefura are targeting the Trampoline Junior and Age Group World Championships, with provincial and national qualifiers scheduled between this December and June 2027.
Both athletes trained with the non-profit Revelstoke Acrobats Club at Begbie View Elementary School, where their recent success at the GymBC Championships in Surrey positioned them as top contenders for international competition.
In April, Acton secured Level 5 gold in double mini trampoline, while Stefura claimed Level 6 gold in double mini trampoline and Level 5 gold in synchro. Both have competed for nearly a decade, earning consistent provincial wins.
Head coach Jill Drake noted the gymnasts' mental fortitude, stating, "These two people in particular have developed their ability to handle themselves at competition." The pair maintains rigorous training schedules to sustain their competitive edge.
Stefura aims to qualify for Canada's development team as she masters new aerial moves, while Acton intends to reach the world stage before graduating from Revelstoke Secondary School in two years.
