Reunited rock band cancels concerts due to ‘serious illness’
Brian Setzer’s autoimmune disease forced cancellation of Stray Cats shows in Michigan and Illinois, with fans eligible for refunds, the band said.
- On Oct. 25, the Stray Cats canceled performances in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and Rockford, Illinois, then scrapped the entire fall U.S. tour.
- Brian Setzer said he was too ill to perform due to a serious illness; earlier this year he revealed an autoimmune disease causing glove-like sensations while playing and receives care at the Mayo Clinic.
- Ahead of the cancellations, the band released two singles, 'Stampede' and 'Teenage Heaven', their first new music since 2019, featuring all three original members in 2024.
- Ticket holders will be offered refunds and no rescheduled dates have been announced after the band canceled all fall tour dates, including the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix.
- Next month the tour had been scheduled to include three New York dates: Nov. 5 in Westbury, N.Y., Nov. 8 at Turning Stone, Verona, N.Y., and Nov. 9 in Port Chester, N.Y., with Turning Stone Event Center tickets starting at $40.50.
