Barcelona held an open training at the refurbished Camp Nou with 23,000 fans as they await permits to host matches with increased capacity of 45,401 spectators.
- On Friday, Barcelona staged an open training session at Spotify Camp Nou attended by 23,000 supporters as a test event before returning to the stadium.
- Barcelona have not played at Camp Nou stadium since 2023 because of the €1.5 billion refurbishment, with the return delayed from initial end-of-2024 plans pushed back earlier this year.
- Barcelona only have a 25,991-person licence granted in October while awaiting a council permit for capped capacity 45,401, forcing early games at the 6,000-capacity Estadi Johan Cruyff and Olympic Stadium.
- Barcelona are aiming to return for the Nov. 22 LaLiga fixture against Athletic Club, and President Joan Laporta said the plan is Nov. 22 or Nov. 29, with Dec. 2 as a fallback.
- Work remains on the third tier and roof as construction continues, with the first two tiers largely finished and final completion expected in 2027 as capacity rises toward 105,000.
