Retracted study was based on unethically collected Uyghur DNA samples, experts contend

Summary by Ground News
In June, Elsevier announced the retraction of a scientific article published in 2019. The article discussed the genetic information of Uyghurs and Kazakhs in China's northwestern Xinjiang region. People familiar with the study believe that genetic samples were obtained under duress. A professor at the University of Leuven has raised the concern that the Chinese government forcibly collects and arbitrarily uses genetic information.
