The researcher of the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia Rafael Luque Ramírez has won this Tuesday the Princess of Girona Prize in Research. His name has been announced in an act in Murcia, within the framework of the Talent Tour organized by the Princess Foundation of Girona, which grants annually these prizes aimed at young talents in the fields of science, art, business, social and international.
The scientist, an international reference in the study of worlds outside the solar system, has been recognized for his contributions to the discovery of more than 220 exoplanets
The jury, in an event presided over by the King, recognized the researcher for "his contributions to the identification of planets outside the solar system and to the study of aquatic worlds"
'I have been carrying the telescope for more than 15 years for all the towns and regions of Andalusia,' he explained after receiving the award.
