Republican-led states urge NCAA to remove transgender athletes’ records
UNITED STATES, JUL 22 – Twenty-seven Republican attorneys general demand NCAA restore titles and records to female athletes affected by transgender participation policies, citing unfair disadvantage and Title IX violations.
- Earlier this year, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and 26 counterparts called on the NCAA to restore records and honors denied due to policies allowing biological males in female sports.
- Despite longstanding Title IX rules, Biden administration policies enabled transgender women to compete, affecting fairness in women’s sports, the attorneys general say.
- Last Tuesday, the attorneys general urged the NCAA to restore records and honors denied to female athletes due to policies allowing biological males to compete, women were impacted negatively and unfairly disadvantaged, the attorneys general wrote.
