$3.14B road funding package passes Michigan House
- The Michigan House Republicans approved a road funding package exceeding $3.1 billion aimed at fixing infrastructure with some bipartisan support.
- The proposal does not raise taxes and redirects over $1 billion from business incentives and collects all funds raised at the pump for roads.
- Speaker Matt Hall stated that this plan will ensure all money collected at the pump goes to roads, addressing the low percentage currently allocated for that purpose.
- Local roads will receive $2.55 billion in support, while state highways will gain nearly $600 million more annually, as outlined in the legislation.
