Released under a U.S.-brokered peace deal, 154 convicted Hamas terrorists stay in a five-star Cairo hotel with some allowed to travel and rebuild networks, experts warn.
- Earlier this month, more than 150 convicted Hamas terrorists released from Israeli prisons are staying at the Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel, Cairo, Egypt alongside Western tourists.
- Under U.S. President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan, about 250 prisoners serving life sentences were freed earlier this month, with Israel agreeing to releases despite strong opposition to secure the last 20 Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
- Undercover reporters identified key figures among the freed men, including Mahmoud Issa, Izz a-Din al-Hamamrah and Samir Abu Nima, while Basem Khandakji attended a Cairo book signing.
- Egyptian officers were seen patrolling outside the hotel, and some freed men have been allowed to leave while officials warned they may be relocated to Turkey, Qatar or Tunisia.
