Lawmakers introduce bill to designate Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations
Mexican authorities have arrested five people in connection with the kidnapping of four Americans. The news comes after suspected drug cartel members turned over the group with a hand-written apology for the abduction and deaths of two of the victims.

The bill, called the Drug Cartel Terrorist Designation Act, seeks to label the Gulf Cartel, the Cartel Del Noreste, the Cartel de Sinaloa, and the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion as foreign terrorist organizations.
