Remains of missing Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation woman found near Victoire

The remains of an Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation woman recently reported missing have been found. Big River RCMP say remains were found in a remote area near Victoire this past Friday. RCMP confirmed Tuesday afternoon that these were the remains of Sherry Michelle Ahenakew. Ahenakew was recently the subject of a missing persons file, last seen on June 5.
