Reinforcing State Security and Civil Protection Actions Against Forest Fires

Last year, the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão recorded around 185 hectares of burned area. Prevention work is the most important and for this the civil protection team at the City Hall based at the BAL (Logistics Support Base) in Bairro, is already prepared for the upcoming season. Municipal forests are cleaned throughout the year and, from June 1st, aerial resources will also be available for any eventuality.

With the aim of strengthening security actions against forest fires active in the state, authorities of the three levels of government conducted an aerial survey of the municipality of Madera, which allowed a detailed assessment of the current situation.
