India's aviation watchdog reprimanded Air India's budget carrier, Air India Express, in March for not timely changing engine parts of an Airbus A320 as directed by European Union's aviation safety agency, and falsifying records.
Aviation regulator DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation) had severely reprimanded Air India Express in March. The inspection revealed that essential parts in the engine of an Airbus A320 were not replaced within the stipulated time. According to DGCA, the airline deliberately changed the records in the AMOS system to show that the repairs were done on time.
